To log in and use the SurfStatsLive Reporting Service you need an existing username and password. You also need to know what type of user you are. SurfStatsLive recognizes three types of users:
  • A Server Administrator
  • A Profile Administrator administers site profiles for SurfStatsLive Users.
  • A SurfStatsLive User (also called end user)
1. Server Administrator: This user can create new Profile Administrators and SurfStatsLive Users. Initially, you can only log in as Server Administrator when no Profile Administrator or SurfStatsLive User has been created yet. If you are using the domain authenticaton option, you should enter the domain name with a \ before the user name in the User Name field, e.g. Mydomain\Administrator. If you cannot login to SurfStatsLive as Server Administrator after installation, please check the following:

  • Login screen in browser - The user that you are trying to log in as has been added to the designated group specified in the SurfStatsLive Global Setup application.
  • Login screen in browser - The username is case-sensitive so administrator is different from Administrator for instance.
  • Global Setup Application - Note that The WinNT:// or LDAP://RootDSE part is case-sensitive.
  • Global Setup Application - The group name specified is case-sensitive.
2. Profile Administrator. This type of user can create new users as SurfStatsLive Users. You can only log in as Profile Administrator if the Server Administrator has created a Profile Group and has given you the user name and password as specified on the profile group.
3. SurfStatsLive User. This user can only view reports. You can only log in as SurfStatsLive User if the Profile Administrator or Server Administrator has created a profile and you have the user name and password to log in.
